Synergy Between Mayor and Forkopimda Refines Preparations for UCLG ASPAC and Kendari City Anniversary
The Kendari City Government continues to demonstrate its seriousness in ensuring the success of two major agendas: the UCLG ASPAC event and the Kendari City Anniversary (HUT) commemoration. This is marked by the holding of a Committee Refinement Meeting involving all elements of local leadership and relevant stakeholders at the 4th Floor Hall of the Kendari City Hall, on Sunday, 3 May 2026.
This strategic meeting was directly led by the Mayor of Kendari, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor, the Chairman of the DPRD, and elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda). The presence of these policymakers serves as strong evidence of collective commitment to ensure that all series of activities run smoothly and successfully.
In the meeting, various important aspects were the focus of discussion, particularly regarding the technical readiness for the event implementation. Starting from the guest and delegation reception scheme, activity scheduling arrangements, to event location readiness, all were discussed in detail to anticipate potential field obstacles.
The Kendari City Government also ensures that all supporting facilities, including transportation and accommodation, have been prepared optimally to provide comfort for the guests, especially delegations from various countries who will attend the international forum.
In addition, security aspects became a primary concern in this refinement meeting. Cross-sectoral coordination with security apparatus continues to be strengthened to ensure the situation remains conducive throughout the series of activities. Security is not only focused on the main event locations but also at several strategic points in the city area.
Mayor of Kendari, Siska Karina Imran, emphasised that the solidity of cross-sectoral coordination is the main key to the success of organising this international-scale event. “This international-scale event demands maximum readiness from all parties. We must not be negligent. Everything must be ensured to run according to plan, from arrival to the implementation of activities at each venue,” she stated.
After the refinement meeting, the Mayor of Kendari along with Forkopimda officials immediately conducted inspections at several main locations that will serve as activity centres. This step was taken to ensure that infrastructure and supporting facility readiness meet the standards for international event implementation, while also demonstrating the Kendari City Government’s commitment to welcoming guests with the best service.
