Syafrin Liputo's Career Path: Once "Nonjob" in Ahok Era, Now Occupies South Jakarta Administrative Mayor Seat

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated 11 high-ranking primary officials within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

Among the names, Syafrin Liputo drew attention after being appointed as the Mayor of the South Jakarta Administration.

This inauguration was carried out to fill strategic positions so that there are no vacancies or acting task performers (PLT).

The entire inauguration process has followed the mechanisms in accordance with regulations.

One of them is based on the recommendation from the Head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) dated 10 April regarding mutation and promotion based on talent management.

In addition, there is a letter from the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD regarding the fit and proper test process for the position of Mayor of South Jakarta, as well as the Governor’s Decrees Numbers 385 to 388 of 2026 dated 14 April 2026.

According to Pramono, the appointments were not carried out simultaneously for all officials.

“So that there are no PLTs and so that there are no positions with short tenures, it is better to do them together,” he said.

He emphasised that all positions are now fully filled, so there are no more vacant positions in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government environment.

The name Syafrin Liputo is not a new figure in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government environment.

He once served as Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Department since being inaugurated in 2019.

Before that, Syafrin was a civil servant (ASN) in the DKI Jakarta Transportation Department, before then continuing his career in the Ministry of Transportation.
