Syafrin Liputo Appointed as Mayor of South Jakarta, with a Mountain of Tasks Awaiting
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The appointment of Syafrin Liputo as the Mayor of the South Jakarta Administration is part of the reshuffle of officials carried out by DKI Governor Pramono Anung.
Behind that inauguration, a number of tasks have been awaiting in the area he leads.
Pramono inaugurated 11 high-ranking primary officials to ensure there are no vacant positions or acting officials (PLT).
He assured that the entire process has gone through mechanisms, including recommendations from the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), letters from the DKI Jakarta DPRD, as well as Governor’s Decrees Numbers 385 to 388 of 2026.
“So that there are no PLTs and so that there is no room where the time is short, it’s better if we do it all together,” he said.
One of the issues still haunting South Jakarta is flooding. In early April 2026, flooding once again inundated the Pela Mampang Subdistrict.
Nine RTs were affected with varying water levels. Flooding also occurred on Ciledug Raya Street, Ulujami.
In the Blok M area, illegal parking practices have resurfaced. Visitors claim they have to pay twice in different locations.
“I’ve already paid Rp 5,000, this one says you don’t pay here, but over there you do. It’s not about the money, sir, but the honesty,” said a visitor in a circulating video.
Although enforcement has been carried out, this practice is still found. The lack of information on official parking locations often traps visitors.
“I don’t know if that’s (the official parking spot). Because I only know about this one,” said Rafael (20).
Similar complaints also come from other visitors who feel disadvantaged by the additional levies.
