Sworn in by Muzani as MPR RI Replacement Member, Adela Kanasya Ready to Carry Out Mandate
People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) Speaker Ahmad Muzani inaugurated Golkar Party politician Adela Kanasya Adies as a member of the MPR RI through the inter-time replacement (PAW) mechanism for the remainder of the 2024-2029 term. Adela was sworn in to replace Adies Kadir, who resigned following his appointment as a constitutional court judge.
Prior to the inauguration, Presidential Decree No. 49/B of 2026 concerning the Inauguration of Inter-Time Replacement Members of the House of Representatives and the People’s Consultative Assembly for the remainder of the 2024-2029 term was read out. The decree confirmed the President’s formalisation of Adela Kanasya Adies’ appointment as an MPR member, with her term of office commencing upon taking the oath and lasting until the end of the current membership period.
Before administering the oath, Muzani reminded Adela that the pledge she was about to take carried a great responsibility not only to the nation and state but also to God Almighty. He stressed that the oath is a promise that must be fulfilled with sincerity and honesty. “Are you willing? I must remind you that the oath you are about to take contains responsibility towards the nation and state of the Republic of Indonesia, responsibility to uphold and safeguard Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,” Muzani stated during the ceremony at the Nusantara III Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (22/6/2026).
In her oath, Adela pledged to carry out her duties as an MPR member to the best of her ability and with utmost fairness in accordance with laws and regulations, guided by Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. She also committed to working diligently to uphold democracy, prioritising the interests of the nation and state over personal or group interests, and championing the aspirations of the people and the regions she represents to achieve national goals.
Following the inauguration, Adela expressed her gratitude for the mandate to serve as an MPR member. “I am happy and delighted to become a member of the MPR RI. Thank you. For the future, I ask for prayers and continuous support from friends in the media,” she said.
The ceremony was attended by MPR Deputy Speakers Bambang Wuryanto, Rusdi Kirana, Hidayat Nur Wahid, and Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, as well as Acting MPR Secretary General Siti Fauziah, Deputy for Administration of the MPR Secretariat General Heri Herawan, and other echelon II officials from the MPR Secretariat General. With this inauguration, Adela officially becomes a member of the MPR and will carry out her constitutional duties until the end of the 2024-2029 term.
