Swiss woman found dead in Bogor

BOGOR (JP): A Swiss woman reportedly committed suicide by jumping from the second floor of the Persatuan Bangau Putih martial arts dormitory in Sampai Village here on Monday.

The victim was said to have been suffering from malaria.

Identified as 30-year-old Franziska Bunlhamn, the deceased was found by her boyfriend, Pepen Iskandar, 44, outside the exercise room in the dormitory wearing a black shirt but without any underwear.

Pepen and two of his friends, Wili and Angke, then brought her body to the Red Cross General Hospital here.

According to Pepen, Bunlhamn had been complaining about her health during their trip from Lombok to Jakarta and had been receiving treatment at the Pelni Hospital in Central Jakarta.

"I don't think she could take the fever any longer. Maybe hallucinating that there was water in the ground, she jumped down," Pepen told The Jakarta Post on Monday.

Pepen said he had planned to marry Bunlhamn, and they had left their home in Lombok to come to Jakarta to prepare the wedding documents at the Swiss Embassy. (21)
