Swift silver for Susanto in chess

TAGAYTAY CITY, Philippines: Indonesia's young Grand Master
Susanto Megaranto was forced to settle for silver after losing
the chess blitz final to Vietnam's Ngoc Truong Son Nguyen on
Monday.

The 18 year old defeated Singapore's Jason Goh Koon-Jong in
the semifinals; he shared bronze with the Philippines' Eugenio
Torre.

"We're quite satisfied with the silver in this competition,"
chess team manager Harbiansyah Hanafiah was quoted as saying by
Antara new service after the match, noting tha Indonesia did not
medal in the event in 2003 in Vietnam. -- JP
