Seoul, MK – The Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and CEO of Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, stated that the series of visits by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto to Japan and the Republic of Korea were highly productive. Moreover, these visits successfully enhanced global investor confidence in Indonesia.

Speaking to the media after attending the “Indonesia–Korea Partnership for Resilient Growth” forum in Seoul on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, Rosan noted that President Prabowo’s direct involvement in dialogues with business actors was a key factor driving positive responses from the business world.

“They can directly convey their input to the President, along with feedback and the challenges they face in Indonesia, and the President is very responsive and open. This has been very positively received by the business community,” said Rosan.

He explained that during these visits, the Indonesian government held various strategic meetings with major industry players. In Japan, the business forum was attended by more than 300 entrepreneurs, accompanied by limited meetings with 12 major companies. Meanwhile, in the Republic of Korea, intensive meetings were conducted with 11 major companies.

Rosan added that amid global geopolitical uncertainties, investment interest from Japan and Korea in Indonesia continues to grow. On average, Korean investment has grown by around 14 per cent per year, while Japanese investment by about 8–9 per cent per year.

Furthermore, Rosan revealed that the presence of Danantara as Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund has further boosted investor confidence for joint investments (co-investment). Currently, the government is following up on plans for joint investments with several major companies, including Lotte Chemical and POSCO.

“We are indeed in the process of following up on joint investments with Lotte Chemical and also with POSCO, with a total investment value of approximately $6 billion together,” he disclosed.

Rosan also highlighted that many investors already operating in Indonesia are now committed to expanding their investments to the next phase, such as KCC Glass, POSCO, and several other companies entering phase two. According to Rosan, Indonesia’s ability to maintain political and economic stability is one of the main factors recognised by investors as a crucial foundation for long-term investment decisions.

“Because that is the primary capital for every investment that represents a long-term commitment to Indonesia. And this is acknowledged by all of them, so the incoming investments are actually for the second phase,” he explained.

He emphasised that the government will continue to follow up on the various agreements reached to ensure they are quickly realised and provide tangible impacts on the national economy.

“We believe that in the future, investments entering Indonesia will continue to grow and provide benefits for all of us, as the President has stated,” he concluded.

This series of visits further affirms Indonesia’s position as a strategic investment destination in the region, while demonstrating the effectiveness of President Prabowo’s economic diplomacy in attracting high-quality investments.
