Sweeping PROPER Awards, MIND ID Boss Highlights Importance of Environmental Protection

The MIND ID Mining Industry Holding Group has successfully obtained the PROPER 2025 awards from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). Among those secured are Gold PROPER, Green PROPER, and the Green Leadership Award. This achievement serves as concrete evidence of the company’s commitment to conducting business practices that are environmentally aware. Director of Mineral Downstream Strategy and Ecosystem at MIND ID, Tedy Badrujaman, stated that the PROPER awards are an important indicator in assessing the company’s compliance with government-set environmental standards. “Essentially, PROPER acts as a warning for all companies to follow the existing regulations,” Tedy told CNBC Indonesia, quoted on Thursday (9/4/2026). Tedy emphasised that all MIND ID members are required to adhere to the principles of good mining practice as established. Therefore, the company continuously monitors to ensure operational activities run according to standards, while aligning with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. “There are specific SOPs for how to mine, how to move the overburden soil, and where to store it,” he said. Furthermore, he assessed that to reduce environmental impacts, every mining activity must be planned meticulously, including water flow management. This is crucial to prevent uncontrolled water runoff during rain, which could potentially cause environmental damage. On the other hand, Tedy views that efforts to protect the surrounding environment apply not only to mining activities but also to processing operations that must follow applicable provisions and regulations. “So PROPER encompasses everything, not just Good Mining Practice but also business implementation like ISO 14000 for the environment,” he said. As is known, the MIND ID Group secured a total of 11 awards, consisting of 2 Gold PROPER, 8 Green PROPER, and 1 Green Leadership Award. The awards received by MIND ID Group members include: PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) with 5 Green PROPER, PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) with 1 Gold PROPER and 1 Green PROPER, and PT Timah Tbk (TINS) with 1 Gold PROPER and 2 Green PROPER. Subsequently, MIND ID’s President Director, Maroef Sjamsoeddin, was awarded the Green Leadership honour at this event. This award to MIND ID’s top leadership serves as concrete evidence of business leadership that has successfully integrated environmental sustainability programmes with direct impacts on the sustainability performance achievements of all Group members.
