Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden will visit Jakarta and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in her capacity as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The visit is scheduled for 4-8 September 2026.

UNDP Administrator Alexander De Croo said the visit would focus on UNDP’s partnership with the Indonesian government on sustainable development, including climate action, biodiversity conservation, digital transformation, and inclusive economic growth.

“Indonesia is home to innovative local solutions to pressing development challenges, from climate action and biodiversity conservation to digital transformation and inclusive growth,” Alexander said in a statement on Monday (24/8/2026).

“Crown Princess Victoria’s visit is an opportunity to see these innovations first-hand and to highlight how local action can help drive global progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals,” he added.

Crown Princess Victoria will meet with government leaders, development partners, the private sector, young leaders, and United Nations representatives in Jakarta. The meetings will discuss innovation, digital transformation, and blended finance in efforts to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Crown Princess Victoria will also visit the NTT region. She will meet with communities and partners working to preserve Indonesia’s unique natural heritage while creating sustainable economic opportunities through ecotourism and nature-based development.

“Indonesia’s development journey is marked by partnership and the strong determination of the Indonesian people to build a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future,” said UNDP Indonesia Resident Representative Sara Ferrer Olivella.

Olivella said Crown Princess Victoria would witness first-hand the creativity, innovation, and local leadership in Indonesia. She noted that local action can also contribute to global progress.

“It is an honour for UNDP to welcome Crown Princess Victoria to Indonesia to witness first-hand the creativity, innovation, and local leadership behind development solutions that are important for Indonesia and the world. This is a clear example of how local action can contribute to global progress,” she added.

Crown Princess Victoria was appointed as UNDP Goodwill Ambassador in October 2023. She plays a role in supporting efforts to raise awareness and encourage engagement around the SDGs and a sustainable future.
