Suzuki to showcase hybrid vehicle line-up at GIIAS 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - At the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, a range of environmentally friendly vehicles has drawn the attention of consumers seeking better fuel efficiency.
PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) is presenting several hybrid models equipped with the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) system, one of which is the Grand Vitara Hybrid.
Dony Saputra, Deputy 4W Sales & Marketing Director at PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, said the presence of Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) technology on the Grand Vitara, New XL7, and Fronx throughout 2025 succeeded in changing consumers’ perspectives on vehicles that are both efficient and affordable.
The Grand Vitara carries Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) technology, a mild hybrid system that combines a petrol engine, an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), and a lithium-ion battery.
The vehicle uses a 1,500 cc K15C engine paired with the SHVS system, producing 130.6 PS of power and a maximum torque of 136.8 Nm.
Energy generated during deceleration is stored back into the battery to assist engine performance under certain conditions, thereby improving fuel efficiency while reducing exhaust emissions. The system operates automatically without requiring charging from an external power source.
The presence of the Grand Vitara Hybrid at GIIAS 2026 demonstrates that electrification technology is available not only on battery-based electric vehicles, but also through hybrid systems that offer an easier transition for consumers of conventionally powered vehicles.
