The Suzuki Landy, a twin to the Toyota Voxy and Toyota Noah, has received a refresh in Japan. This boxy MPV now features several updates, ranging from a sportier appearance and an eight-passenger configuration option to an engine lineup that is now exclusively available in hybrid form.

As is well known, the Suzuki Landy is not a model developed independently by Suzuki; it shares its platform and most components with the Toyota Noah and Vоxy marketed in Japan. In this latest model, Suzuki has introduced new exterior touches, adopting a front bumper and body kit previously used on higher-specification Toyota Noah variants. Suzuki’s brand identity remains minimal, with the most noticeable differences being the Suzuki emblem and body-coloured accents located above the grille.

Colour options remain limited, with consumers able to choose from Platinum White Pearl Mica, Metal Stream Metallic, and Neutral Black. Inside the cabin, Suzuki now provides an eight-passenger configuration to complement the existing seven-passenger option. Additionally, the dashboard has been refreshed with the use of premium-claimed soft-pad materials, and the instrument panel now features a 7-inch screen.

However, the features offered still sit below those of the Toyota Noah. The Suzuki Landy has not yet been equipped with the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel or the 8-inch and 10.25-inch infotainment screens available on the Noah. Furthermore, the Landy is sold without a built-in audio system (audio-less), meaning consumers must add audio and navigation devices as optional accessories with screen sizes ranging from 7 to 9 inches.

Significant changes have also occurred in the engine sector. Suzuki has removed the previously available 2.0-litre petrol engine option. Consequently, the Landy is now only offered with a self-charging hybrid system, combining a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with either one or two electric motors. For the AWD variant using the E-Four system, Suzuki has added a new driving mode called ‘Snow Extra’, designed to assist the vehicle on snowy roads.

While Suzuki has not disclosed any revisions to the suspension or chassis, it is likely that the Landy has received similar updates to driving comfort and cabin insulation as seen in the latest Toyota Noah. The new Suzuki Landy Hybrid G is now on sale in Japan, with a sales target of approximately 1,200 units per year. According to Carscoops, the FWD variant is priced starting from 3,845,600 yen (approximately Rp 430 million), while the AWD variant is priced from 4,128,300 yen (equivalent to approximately Rp 460 million).
