Suzuki introduces new Fronx line-up at GIIAS 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) has officially expanded its sport utility vehicle (SUV) line-up with the introduction of the Suzuki Fronx SGX Hybrid Kuro at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026.
“Through the Fronx SGX Hybrid Kuro, we aim to provide more options for consumers seeking a sportier SUV Coupe character, while offering more comprehensive safety technology to support daily mobility,” said Donny Saputra, Deputy Managing Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS), at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Saturday.
In terms of appearance, the Fronx SGX Hybrid Kuro adopts a new identity through the use of a New Black Front Grille Garnish, which emphasises a dominant black theme at the front of the vehicle. This refreshment provides a more masculine and aggressive impression compared to previous variants.
Beyond visual changes, Suzuki has also included a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) as standard equipment. This device is capable of recording real-time conditions in front of the vehicle, with footage accessible via a smartphone application. This feature is intended to provide trip documentation while enhancing driving security.
The launch of the Fronx SGX Hybrid Kuro also highlights the competitive trend in the SUV segment, which now relies not only on design and performance but also on comprehensive safety technology as added value. In recent years, automotive manufacturers have become increasingly aggressive in introducing both active and passive safety features to meet the rising expectations of Indonesian consumers.
During GIIAS 2026, this model serves as one of the new products enriching competition in the SUV segment, competing against various new models from several brands that are also utilising Indonesia’s largest automotive exhibition as a platform for launching their latest vehicles. Suzuki is marketing the Fronx SGX Hybrid Kuro in the ‘Cool Black with Black Grille’ colour option, priced at Rp333.8 million (OTR DKI Jakarta).
