Suzuki Completes Fronx Lineup with SGX Hybrid Kuro Variant at GIIAS 2026

PT Suzuki Indom．Sales (SIS) introduced the Suzuki Fronx SGX Hybrid Kuro at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, on Saturday (1/8/2026). This new variant serves as the top-tier model within the Fronx lineup marketed in Indonesia.

Donny Saputra, Deputy Managing Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, stated that the arrival of the Fronx SGX Hybrid Kuro is a response to the high market interest in the Fronx since its launch in 2025. This latest variant also offers additional safety features compared to previous models.

“Through the Fronx SGX Hybrid Kuro, we want to complete the choices for consumers who desire a sportier SUV Coupe while also obtaining more comprehensive safety technology,” said Donny.

The name ‘Kuro’, which means black in Japanese, is reflected in the exterior refresh through the use of a New Black Front Grille Garnish. This accent emphasises the vehicle’s front appearance with a more masculine nuance compared to previous variants.

Suzuki has also added a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) as standard equipment. This device is capable of recording conditions in front of the vehicle in real-time, with recordings accessible via a smartphone application.

In terms of dimensions, the Fronx SGX Hybrid Kuro has a length of 3,995 mm, a width of 1,765 mm, a height of 1,550 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. The car features 16-inch black alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, and a turning radius of 4.8 metres to support manoeuvrability in tight areas.

Inside the cabin, Suzuki maintains a black and burgundy theme. Various comfort features are included, such as a 9-inch touchscreen head unit supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, paddle shifters, and seats made of a combination of synthetic leather and fabric.

This SUV coupe utilises a 1,500 cc K15C petrol engine paired with Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) technology. This mild hybrid system utilises an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and a lithium-ion battery to assist fuel efficiency through acceleration assist, regenerative braking, and engine auto-stop features. Power is delivered to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

Regarding the chassis, the Fronx SGX Hybrid Kuro uses MacPherson Strut suspension at the front and a Torsion Beam at the rear. The car has a ground clearance of 170 mm, supporting its SUV character for traversing various road conditions.

For safety, Suzuki has equipped this model with six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Hold Control, ISOFIX, and a TECT body structure. Additionally, the Suzuki Safety Support package is available, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Dual Sensor Brake Support II, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist, and a 360-degree camera.

Suzuki is marketing the Fronx SGX Hybrid Kuro in a single colour option, Cool Black, at a price of Rp333.8 million on the road in DKI Jakarta. The introduction of this model increases competition in the increasingly crowded compact SUV segment of the national automotive market.
