SUVs and EVs Dominate the Beijing Auto Show 2026 Lineup

Beijing (ANTARA) - Electric vehicles (EVs) and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) were the most prominently displayed cars at the Beijing Auto Show 2026, held in Beijing, China’s capital. Various vehicle brands, both from China and global names, vied for the attention of visitors at the China International Exhibition Center and the Capital International Exhibition of China in Beijing on Friday. Spanning an exhibition area of 380,000 square metres, the event featured approximately 1,451 displayed vehicles and 71 concept cars. Vehicle manufacturers showcased their latest innovations and cutting-edge technologies. In general, many producers launched SUVs on the first day of the exhibition. In addition to GAC, other domestic Chinese brands also participated in the annual automotive event, such as Geely Auto, Chery, Changan, BYD, Xiaomi, XPeng, and BAIC. International premium car brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and Audi did not miss the opportunity to exhibit their products. Besides the vehicle displays, the Beijing Auto Show 2026, which runs from 24 April to 3 May, hosts at least 200 conferences, innovation forums, and automotive technology discussions, bringing together experts from the vehicle, optics, chip, and supply chain sectors.
