Suu Kyi concerned with inflation, education

TOKYO (AFP): Myanmarese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has
expressed concern over rising inflation and worsening standard of
medical treatment and education in her country, the Mainichi

In an interview with the newspaper in Yangon, Aung San Suu Kyi
was quoted as saying that inflation was the most pressing issue
in her country.

She was quoted as saying that many people in Myanmar were
talking about the strain in their daily life.

Hospital and medicines are in short supply, while the standard
of education had deteriorated in the country, she was quoted as
saying.

The Nobel peace prize winner said she wanted Japan to help to
improve Myanmar's education system if it wanted Burma to achieve
long-term economic.

Aung San Suu Kyi also said that restoring confidence in
politics was the biggest challenge facing her country, where she
said many people are disillusioned of the current politics.

People's confidence in politics is necessary for economic
