Sutrimo's Final Messages from Jalan Radio
Four days before his death, Sutrimo was on guard in front of the house of former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah at Jalan Radio I Number 15, Kramat Pela, South Jakarta. “Nyong was assigned to watch whether any media or intelligence came,” Sutrimo wrote to a relative via WhatsApp on Sunday, 19 July 2026, as received by detikX. He was tasked with monitoring whether any journalists or intelligence officers arrived. That night, Sutrimo sent a photo of himself sitting at a table on the pavement, directly opposite Febrie Adriansyah’s house. Sutrimo said he had long been familiar with the luxury house. He recounted that he had helped build it. His former wife, he said, had also been there.
The guard duty continued the next day. On 20 July at 15.30 WIB, Sutrimo again reported that he was on duty. Past midnight, on 21 July at 01.52 WIB, he was still there. About an hour and a half later, at 03.36 WIB, Sutrimo sent another photo from the guard post. “Guard. There are about 15 people. They are asleep. I have slept for about two hours,” he wrote. He told his relative that since the afternoon he had only slept about two hours. Around 15 people were on guard duty. At that time, Sutrimo said, they were sleeping. He was still awake.
In the morning, at 08.00 WIB, Sutrimo sent a photo of two bottles of perfume which he said were gifts from Febrie Adriansyah’s aide, suspected to be an employee of the Attorney General’s Office, Febrio Adiono. That evening, at around 20.05 WIB, he again sent a photo of food. There was soto Kudus, perkedel, salted egg, and iced orange juice which, according to his account, had been bought by the aide. In these conversations, Sutrimo did not complain or report any health problems. On 22 July, he spoke more about family. He was in fact very regularly asking about the condition of a relative’s baby who was ill.
In the early hours, at 02.50 WIB on 23 July, Sutrimo sent a photo of fried chicken and rice with a message. Just over an hour later, at 04.00 WIB, another photo came in showing the guard post. There was something odd about that photo. No text accompanied it. At the bottom, the time and location of the photo were fully displayed. Such details did not appear in the photos Sutrimo had previously sent. This difference later became one of the things noted by the legal representative of Sutrimo’s family, Aan Rohaeni. “It is just strange that Sutrimo never used this location stamp. Why at four o’clock did he send a photo with the location? That is also odd,” Aan explained to detikX by telephone.
The 04.00 WIB photo was the last message recorded from Sutrimo’s phone. About two and a half hours later, according to the chronology written by Febrio Adiono in a form at Muhammadiyah Taman Puring Hospital, Sutrimo complained of illness and requested medical assistance. The time recorded was 06.37 WIB. detikX has attempted to contact Febrio by text message, but there has been no response to date. Then at 09.00 WIB, Sutrimo was found dead lying with foam coming from his mouth reaching his nose in front of the Mordent Clinic in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
His body was then taken home to Banyumas, Central Java. According to Aan Rohaeni, the ambulance departed from Jakarta at around 12.30 WIB. The body only arrived at the funeral home at around 22.00 WIB. That is about nine hours and 30 minutes. According to Google Maps, the normal time by ordinary car is around six hours. The travel time later became one of the things questioned by the family. The person who delivered the body told the family that the journey was delayed by traffic. Yet the body was transported by ambulance.
One of the body escorts left a telephone number with the family. He was named Ahmad Machmud. He was the one who handed over Rp 20 million to Sutrimo’s family and gave his telephone number. There was another matter that made the family begin to wonder. Sutrimo’s personal belongings, including his mobile phone, were not brought along. According to Aan, the family was told that the items would be sent the following day. When the family tried to contact Machmud, the number was no longer active. Sutrimo’s phone also could not be reached. detikX has also attempted to open communication with Machmud’s number, but there has been no response. “So people are confused. So people become suspicious. They started to be suspicious, then saw the news and so on,” said Aan.
A number of tags on GetContact linked the number to more than 200 hashtags. Some users saved Machmud’s number with names indicating a TNI identity, including “Mahmud Babinsa” and “Serma Mahmud Koramil Kembangan Jabar”. detikX then confirmed Machmud’s status with the Head of the TNI Information Centre, Brigadier General Muhammad Nas. He confirmed that Machmud had been a member of the Army but was now retired. “I have confirmed and Dispenad has also released that the person concerned has retired from TNI AD service,” said Muhammad Nas by text message to detikX. Machmud is indeed a retired TNI officer, who retired on 31 July 2024. After retiring, he worked as security personnel within the Attorney General’s Office.
On 23 July 2026, Machmud was said to have received instructions from the unit commander to go to Muhammadiyah Taman Puring Hospital, South Jakarta. At the hospital, he met an aide and was asked to help deliver Sutrimo’s body to the funeral home in Wangon Village, Banyumas. Machmud brought documents and compensation money to be handed over to the family. After handing over the compensation, Machmud returned to Jakarta on 24 July. “AM (Ahmad Machmud) has retired from military service and is currently a civilian,” said Donny, referring to the release from the 0503/West Jakarta Military District Command.
Order to Return to Jakarta
Sutrimo had gone home to Banyumas on his own initiative. A few days later, he was asked to return to Jakarta, at least according to what people said.
