Sutiyoso should resign

The current floods in Jakarta have caused not only the loss of
property but also claimed dozens of lives. Unfortunately, we
cannot do much about it, except hope that the rains stop soon and
that the floods gradually recede.

The statements made by Governor of Jakarta Sutiyoso, give the
impression that he is washing his hands of the city's problem.
Among other things, he said the floods were caused by "unusual"
natural conditions and the problem had been unsolvable since the
days of former governor Ali Sadikin. He also blamed the public
for being undisciplined.

In my opinion, his statements are just ridiculous. Wasn't he
appointed to eradicate all these problems? If he is not capable
of implementing proper city planning and improving the public's
mentality, then what can one expect from a governor?

The absence of foresight indicates how insensitive the
governor is to public suffering. The flood is the last straw
after the various price hikes.

In a foreign country, a governor would immediately announce
his resignation. I hope Sutiyoso is noble enough to do this. I'm
sorry Bang (brother) Yos, we just need a leader who is
intelligent and sensitive to the difficulties faced by the
public.
