Sutiyoso meets Chinese officials

JAKARTA: Governor Sutiyoso met on Wednesday with three deputy governors from three provinces of the People's Republic of China to discuss investment here.

The deputy governors -- Mu Dongsheng of Qing Hai province, Sun Yu of Guangxi province and Ma Kaiming of Sichuan -- also met with other top city officials.

It is unclear what kind of investment was discussed during the meeting at City Hall.

The city administration earlier planned to purchase several Dong Feng buses from China to upgrade the city's bus fleet.

Sutiyoso visited China last year to discuss the possibility of buying the buses. The bus company's executives have also visited Jakarta to discuss the matter.

An agreement on the buses has not been reached as yet.--JP
