Susyana wins bronze in Asian wushu c'ship

JAKARTA: Indonesian women's wushu athlete Susyana won bronze at the Asian Wushu Championships in Yangon, Myanmar, on Wednesday according to the Indonesian Wushu Association (WI) here.

The association said in a statement on Thursday that Susyana finished in third place in the gun shu category behind the gold medalist from Vietnam and the silver medalist from Chinese Taipei.

Ten Indonesians are competing in the nine-day event, which will run until Sunday.

Apart from the medal hunt, the WI is looking to monitor the development of wushu in other countries particularly those of fellow Southeast Asian nations ahead of the 2005 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in the Philippines. --JP
