Suspicions Mount That Deceased Found in Darmasaba Badung Was a Motorcycle Washer
The decomposing body of a man was found in a vacant lot in Banjar Cabe, Darmasaba Village, Abiansemal District, Badung. Authorities suspect the deceased is DAD, a 25-year-old motorcycle washer. This suspicion has strengthened following reports of a disturbance at the motorcycle washing business where DAD worked.
The disturbance at the Banjar Cabe motorcycle washing business, where DAD was employed, occurred in the early hours of May 7, 2026. The incident allegedly involved two other individuals who had previously worked at the same location.
Upon arriving at the location, the business owner found several chairs and plywood partitions damaged, with signs of floor repairs using cement. A source at the location, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that they were unaware of the exact cause of the damage as they were not present during the incident.
On Friday, May 15, 2026, the damaged customer waiting area was cordoned off with police tape. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the motive and perpetrators behind the death of the man, believed to be from Sumbawa.
The deceased’s identity was likely confirmed through a distinctive tattoo on his body, which was recognized by residents and former colleagues. Police have also visited the location to match the physical data of the victim, whose body was found on May 12, 2026, several days after the disturbance.
“It was him because of the tattoo. The police also checked here. The police said they already know the identity of the victim,” said the source, who requested anonymity.
The source also explained that two other employees, identified as D and A, were present during the disturbance and subsequently left their jobs at different times and for different reasons. D resigned via text message a few hours after the disturbance, while A disappeared shortly after the victim’s body was found.
DAD had been working at the motorcycle washing business since February 2026 but was terminated at the end of April 2026 and had already started working elsewhere before the discovery of the buried body caused a stir among residents. The source stated that they were unaware of the motive, as DAD had always appeared to be well-behaved.
“There is CCTV here, but it wasn’t recording at the time because the internet hadn’t been paid. So, the fight wasn’t recorded,” said the source.
Another local resident confirmed the disturbance, which they believe occurred between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM. The source stated that they heard a commotion from several people coming from the main road, accompanied by barking dogs. Residents were then shocked by the discovery of the body in the vacant lot. Residents in the area believe it was him after recognizing the tattoo on the victim’s body, which had been widely circulated on social media.
However, there has been no confirmation that the identity of the buried man, suspected to be a victim of murder in the vacant lot in Banjar Cabe, is the same person who previously worked at a motorcycle washing business near the location where the body was found. There is also no information available regarding the progress of the investigation. “Wait for the official results of the investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Badung Police,” said PS Kasubsipenmas Sihumas Polres Badung, Aiptu Ni Nyoman Ayu Inastuti.
