The construction of the ‘Merah Putih’ Precision Suspension Bridge, which connects Muara Petai Village and Muara Tiu Makmur Village, Pucuk Rantau District, Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing), is now entering the final stage. As of Thursday (26/2/2026), the Riau Police Bridge Emergency Task Force reported that the construction progress has reached 88%.

“The estimated completion time is 15 days. Currently, it is 88% complete,” said the Head of the Riau Police Bridge Emergency Task Force, Kombes I Ketut Gede Adi Wibawa, in a statement on Thursday (26/2/2026).

Currently, joint personnel from the Riau Police Mobile Brigade and the Kuansing Police are focusing on two main agendas at the project site, namely the installation of the harmony framework and the connection of the main parts of the bridge, as well as the painting of the gate, which is the icon of the entrance to the bridge on both sides of the village.

“The work continues to be carried out professionally. Currently, the team is completing the framework structure and starting to improve the appearance of the bridge by painting the gate,” he added.

Although the construction of the suspension bridge has its own level of difficulty, the Task Force reported that so far no significant obstacles have been encountered. The synergy between personnel and the smooth flow of materials have ensured that the construction is proceeding according to the planned timeline.

After the framework installation and gate painting are completed, the next activity is to paint the entire bridge to protect the material from corrosion and to give it a distinctive “Merah Putih” aesthetic as a symbol of the presence of the Police in the community.

The presence of the ‘Merah Putih’ Precision Suspension Bridge is expected to significantly reduce travel time between villages in the Pucuk Rantau District. This infrastructure will not only facilitate the mobility of residents but is also believed to boost the local economy through the smooth distribution of agricultural products.

The project, which is part of the Riau Police’s strategic program, is being carried out intensively to open up accessibility for residents in remote areas that have been isolated.
