Suspended Rejang Lebong Regent Indicted for Accepting Rp2.52 Billion and an iPhone 17 Pro Max

Kota Bengkulu, VIVA — Suspended Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari has been charged with receiving money from a number of contractors and other parties, totalling Rp2.52 billion.

Public prosecutors from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have also charged him with receiving one iPhone 17 Pro Max and one iPad worth more than Rp31 million.

“The total money received was Rp2.52 billion, plus an iPhone and iPad worth Rp31 million,” said KPK prosecutor Syahrul Anwar on Tuesday, 28 July 2026.

The Acting Head of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas (PUPRPKP) Agency of Rejang Lebong Regency, Hari Eko Purnomo, was also charged in the same case.

Both defendants were charged under Article 12 letter a and Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001, juncto Article 20 letter c in conjunction with Article 127 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.

In the indictment, prosecutors said Fikri was allegedly the party who initiated requests for fees from contractors carrying out projects at the PUPRPKP Agency of Rejang Lebong Regency.

To run the scheme, Fikri was allegedly assisted by B Daditama, his confidant who also served as an expert adviser on the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) of the Rejang Lebong Regency Government, together with Hari Eko Purnomo.

Syahrul said that in June 2025 the three held a meeting to determine which contractors would obtain government project packages for the 2025 fiscal year. As a result, four contractors were designated as project implementers: Edi Manggala, Irsyad Satria Budiman, Youki Yudiantoro — whose case has already gone to trial — and Eko Yusanto.

According to the indictment, the contractors then handed over fees to Fikri through Hari Eko Purnomo and B Daditama. Edi Manggala was said to have handed over more than Rp530 million, while Irsyad Satria Budiman and Youki Yudiantoro each handed over Rp300 million.

In addition, Fikri was also charged with receiving more than Rp850 million from PT Cahaya Mas Cemerlang after the company obtained three project packages in Rejang Lebong Regency.

“For 2025, money has already been handed over by a number of contractors who won projects in Rejang Lebong. Three of them have already stood trial,” he said.
