Suspended Febrie Adriansyah Still Receives Half Salary

The Attorney General’s Office has stated that former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, still receives 50 percent of his basic salary. Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, said this is because the individual has not been fully dismissed as a prosecutor and civil servant. He explained that Febrie’s dismissal currently must wait until the money laundering case implicating him has permanent legal force or is declared inkracht. Even so, Anang said Febrie no longer receives any of the allowances or facilities previously provided. “He doesn’t get allowances. So, no allowances,” he told reporters, quoted on Thursday (6/8). “He only receives half his salary, 50 percent of his basic salary,” he added. Previously, Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin had temporarily suspended the prosecutor status of Febrie Adriansyah. Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, stated the temporary deactivation was carried out until there is a legally binding decision in Febrie’s alleged money laundering case. “It is true that currently FA [Febrie] has been temporarily suspended while waiting for a legally binding or inkracht verdict,” he told reporters on Tuesday (3/8). Anang explained that the Attorney General has not yet proposed a full dismissal for Febrie to the President because they must still wait for his case to be proven guilty and attain inkracht status. He said the temporary suspension status was submitted after a report from Team 9 regarding Febrie’s suspect status. Anang added that the temporary suspension has been in effect since 31 July.
