Suspended Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang has denied any fund transfers to Jawa Barat PDIP Chairman Ono Surono. He emphasised that his case has no connection whatsoever to the party or its cadres.

“My case has absolutely no relation to the party at all, let alone to the issue of its cadres, namely the personnel of Chairman Ono or other people,” said Ade Kunang after testifying at the Bandung Corruption Court (Tipikor) on Wednesday afternoon, 15 April 2026.

This fund flow emerged during the trial of the defendant Sarjan, where KPK prosecutors revealed allegations of a Rp150 million transfer from Ade Kunang to Ono Surono.

During his testimony at the trial, Ade initially denied giving the money. However, KPK prosecutors then read out the Examination Minutes (BAP) based on Ade Kunang’s statements during the KPK investigation.

After the trial, Ade did not deny providing money for the Jawa Barat PDIP Regional Conference (Konferda) activities. But, Ade claimed, the money was not for the personal benefit of party cadres but for party activities.

“I conveyed that I am a regent and also a party chairman. When there is a regional conference, everyone contributes together. It is reasonable for me to help the DPD,” he stated.

Regarding the differences between his BAP testimony and his statements in court, the PDIP politician claimed that he was suddenly woken up in the early hours by the KPK to give his statement.

“It is very reasonable that at that time, at 2 a.m., I was sleeping, I was questioned, the BAP was oral, yes, I will explain that later. Insyaallah, even in the initial stage at the KPK, seeking facts, indeed the fact is that there is none,” he said.

“Perhaps Mr Asep entrusted it to the committee, not to Chairman Ono,” he added, referring to the Rp150 million that he claimed was for party activities.

Previously, Ade Kunang and his father, H.M. Kunang, were presented as witnesses in the trial of the alleged bribery and corruption case involving defendant Sarjan at the Bandung Corruption Court (Tipikor) on Wednesday afternoon.

In addition to the two, KPK public prosecutors also presented five other witnesses. They consisted of three members of the Bekasi Regency DPRD, namely Nyumarno from PDIP, Iin Parihin from the Moon Star Party, and Aria Dwi Nugroho from the Gerindra Party. The other two witnesses were Jejen Sayuti and Willi alias Icong, who are known to be drivers for H.M. Kunang.
