Suspected Ukrainian Terrorist Accomplices Arrested in Russia

Three people have been arrested in three locations in Russia — the Republic of Adygea, the Tyumen region, and Krasnodar Krai — on suspicion of collaborating with Ukraine to plan terrorist attacks against Russian military personnel and transport and energy facilities. “The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained three individuals cooperating with Ukrainian intelligence in the Republic of Adygea, the Tyumen region, and Krasnodar Krai,” according to an FSB statement on Wednesday. It has been confirmed that the three arrested individuals planned to carry out acts of sabotage and terrorism against members of the Russian armed forces, volunteer organisations supporting participants in the special military operation, transport infrastructure facilities, and the fuel and energy sector in those regions, the statement added. “Examination of the detainees’ communication devices revealed correspondence with handlers from Ukraine containing instructions on carrying out the planned terrorist attacks,” the FSB statement said. According to the statement, criminal cases have been opened against the suspects under articles related to the preparation of terrorist attacks and the illegal possession of explosives or explosive devices.
