JAKARTA – The controversy surrounding allegations of forged diploma credentials belonging to Indonesia’s seventh president, Joko Widodo, continues to develop.

Amid an ongoing public debate, several parties implicated in the alleged diploma forgery case are pursuing restorative justice proceedings one by one.

The latest development comes from digital forensics researcher Rismon Sianipar, who claims to have made new findings related to the Jokowi diploma controversy. These findings are reportedly potentially different from the conclusions he previously detailed in his book, Jokowi’s White Paper.

According to Rismon, the new findings relate to digital image processing analysis comprising three main variables: translation, rotation, and lighting. He also stressed that the research was conducted independently and was not influenced by other parties, including Roy Suryo or Tifauzia Tyassuma.

“Once again, this is not a matter of liking or disliking, hating or not hating—this is about scientific work. And a researcher or scientific worker must base their conclusions on their findings, not because I dislike someone,” he stated.

Amid these developments, Rismon also submitted a request for case resolution through the restorative justice mechanism to investigators. “So a few days ago, RHS and his legal counsel submitted a request for restorative justice facilitation to the investigators. And we are working to facilitate the request submitted by the suspect RHS,” said Iman.

Previously, two suspects from the first cluster of the alleged Jokowi diploma forgery case—Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis—also pursued restorative justice proceedings. “Yes, restorative justice has been submitted to investigators (last week),” Iman stated during a press conference on Monday (12 January 2026).

The restorative justice request was also submitted by Jokowi’s legal representatives as the reporting party in this case. Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Head Kombes Budi Hermanto confirmed that the request had been delivered to investigators.
