Suspected of Theft Involvement, Bali Immigration Arrests Three Chinese Nationals

Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - Ngurah Rai Immigration in Badung Regency, Bali, arrested three foreign nationals from China at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport for allegedly being involved in aggravated theft in Bogor City, West Java. “We arrest anyone who is on the wanted list, as long as the information is provided to us,” said the Head of Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, in Jimbaran, Badung Regency, Bali, on Saturday. He explained that the three Chinese nationals, all males, have the initials JW, RW, and HL. The three were prevented from leaving Indonesia on Saturday aboard one of the airlines bound for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. According to him, the three foreign nationals were flagged as special concerns detected through the Immigration’s internal application. Officers then delayed their departure for further examination. Based on the examination results, officers confirmed that the three Chinese citizens were strongly suspected of being perpetrators of the criminal act of aggravated theft based on a report from the Bogor City Police Resort. According to information from the Bogor City Police Resort, the aggravated theft occurred on Sunday (22/3) around 20:45 WIB. The perpetrators, wearing masks patterned with a footballer’s face and black gloves, entered one of the victim’s houses in a luxurious residential area that was empty because the occupants had been on holiday since 18 March 2026. “We also contribute to maintaining the sovereignty and security of the state and will continue to synergise with all law enforcement apparatus to ensure that every lawbreaker is held accountable for their actions,” he said. The arrest of the alleged perpetrators was made possible through synergy between the Bogor City Police Resort, the Bogor Immigration Office, and the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, supported by increasingly sophisticated immigration digital infrastructure ready to detect and prevent the passage of criminals. Currently, the three foreign nationals have been handed over to the Bogor City Police Resort.
