Suspected of Harassment, Syekh Al Misry Has Already Fled to the United Arab Emirates

The Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, has not received any requests from law enforcement authorities regarding the prevention of Syekh Ahmad Al Misry, or SAM, a suspect in an alleged sexual harassment case, from leaving the country. “The Directorate General of Immigration has not received any requests for travel bans from any law enforcement agencies to date,” said Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko when confirmed by Antara in Jakarta on Monday. Regarding the whereabouts of Syekh Ahmad Al Misry, he stated that based on data from the APK 4 crossing system, the individual is recorded as still being abroad. The APK 4.0, or version 4.0 of the immigration crossing application, is a digital system developed by the Directorate General of Immigration to process passenger crossing data at immigration checkpoints such as international airports. He mentioned that Syekh Ahmad Al Misry departed Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), on 15 March 2026. “And to date, he has not returned to Indonesian territory,” Hendarsam said.
