Suspected Lack of Concentration, Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing into Truck Under UI Access Flyover

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.COM — A motorcyclist identified by initials AA (20) died after colliding with the rear of a truck under the flyover at the UI Access in South Jakarta, on Thursday (5 March 2026) early morning. The accident is suspected to have occurred because the rider was not careful and lost concentration while riding. The Head of Traffic Unit of South Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Mujiyanto, explained that the incident began when AA was riding a Honda PCX motorcycle with registration plate E 2490 YWF on Jalan Srengseng Sawah toward Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung. ‘Upon reaching beneath the bridge, it is believed the rider was not careful and lost concentration, causing him to hit the rear of a Mitsubishi Colt NRKB B 9212 UPX vehicle,’ Mujiyanto said in a statement on Thursday. The hard impact caused the victim to suffer serious injuries. AA was evacuated to Bhayangkara Brimob Hospital for medical treatment. However, after treatment, the victim was pronounced dead. The accident was recorded by a member of the public and uploaded to social media on the Instagram account @infodepok_id. In the circulating video, several motorists can be seen crowding the area around the scene. Some police personnel were also seen at the scene of the incident together with a traffic patrol car and an ambulance. At the scene, a yellow truck transporting Hebel blocks was visible.
