JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) has temporarily suspended all verification processes for the Indonesia Game Rating System (IGRS) following allegations of a leak involving unreleased game materials. Reports have emerged of gameplay footage circulating from several major games, including 007: First Light and Bandai Namco’s Echoes of Aincrad. The leak is suspected to have originated from a security vulnerability in the IGRS system, allowing private materials intended solely for classification purposes to be accessed by the public. This incident provides an opportunity for Komdigi to evaluate and improve the IGRS verification process. “We have formed a special team to thoroughly investigate this issue,” stated Sonny Hendra Sudaryana, Director of Digital Ecosystem Development at Komdigi, when met in the Ganara Art FX Sudirman area, Jakarta, on Friday (17/4/2026). Sonny explained that the special investigation team will examine various aspects, from the system and processes to governance. “So that we can obtain truly objective and comprehensive findings. During this process, we are also receiving a lot of input,” he said. Regarding the duration of the investigation, Sonny admitted he could not yet confirm, as the process will proceed in stages involving several teams. Sonny stated that the investigation results will serve as the basis for system improvements, including recommendations and future implementation strategies. Amid the ongoing investigation, Komdigi has temporarily halted IGRS verification. The delay in the rating system is also awaiting the investigation results. However, there is no blocking of services in this case. “Nothing is being blocked. The blocking mechanism is different. This is what we need to emphasise,” Sonny said.
