Suspected Electrocution: Internet Technician Dies in Bogor

An internet network technician identified by the initials I (57) died in a workplace accident in Gorowong village, Parungpanjang district, Bogor, West Java. The victim is suspected to have died after being struck by an electric current.

“Suspected electrocution, after which he fell,” said Parungpanjang Police Chief Kompol M Taufik on Thursday (8 October 2026).

He said the incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, 6 October. Taufik explained that the victim was carrying out work involving cables at the time.

“The victim was installing or pulling Wi-Fi cable,” he said.

The technician was working alone when the incident happened. After discovering that he had been electrocuted, residents took him to a puskesmas, a community health centre, for medical treatment.

“He was taken to the puskesmas, where he later died,” he said.

Taufik said the weather was dry at the time of the incident, and the victim was pulling internet network cable on his own.
