Suspected drug dealers shot dead

JAKARTA: Police shot dead early last two suspected drug dealers during a prospective transaction at Jl. Kayu Manis in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.

Brig. Gatot of Kramat Jati police said the police shot M. Ilyas, 35, and Mahrudin, 33, in the chest as they ignored warnings and fought with the police.

Police seized a kilogram of dried marijuana from the suspects.

The bodies were sent to Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital (RSCM) in Central Jakarta for post-mortem examinations.--JP
