Suspect who pasted QR code stickers for online gambling at motorcycle parking and a warkop in South Jakarta arrested
Polsek Pesanggrahan arrested one suspect involved in placing QR code stickers for online gambling (judol) in motorcycle parking areas and at a warkop in South Jakarta. Meanwhile, the accomplice is still being sought.
‘After the barcode was pasted at one of the warung, a warteg, and also on motorcycles, we managed to secure one person; one suspect has been placed on the DPO list,’ said Police Chief of Pesanggrahan, Kompol Seala Syah Alam, at a press conference at the Pesanggrahan Police Station on Thursday (5 March 2026).
Seala stated that the arrested suspect is a man identified by the initials SP alias P. He was arrested at his home in the Kota Tangerang area.
‘We conducted follow-up investigations and managed to apprehend the suspect named SP alias P on Tuesday 17 February 2026 at around 22:28 WIB at his home in Larangan, Tangerang City,’ he explained.
He explained that SP pasted QR stickers on motorcycle handlebars and at various sites because he was promised money. Meanwhile, police are pursuing two other suspects, F and A.
‘F and A have been placed on the DPO list. For suspect A, after our checks he is already outside Java, in the Kalimantan region,’ he added.
‘We will continue with the investigations in line with our commitment to the President’s directive that eradicating online gambling is the top priority,’ he said.
Seala added that SP acted together with F. They pasted these QR code stickers in several locations.
‘At several places including motorcycle parking lots, the seafood eatery opposite a petrol station on Jalan Ciledug Raya Petukangan Utara, the motorcycle parking area at Alfamidi on Jalan Bendi Raya Kebayoran Lama, and the motorcycle parking area at Pertamina gas station on Jalan M. Saidi Raya Petukangan Selatan, South Jakarta,’ he explained.
‘Warkop Cafe Jalan Sabar, Petukangan Selatan Sub-district, Pesanggrahan District, South Jakarta,’ he added.
Earlier, two men suspected of pasting QR code stickers for online gambling (judol) went viral on social media. Police identified the two men in the video.
In the video circulating on social media, a man wearing an orange shirt and a pink cap is seen pasting stickers on motorcycles parked and on walls. Each time the sticker is pasted, the suspect is photographed with a smartphone.
Meanwhile, another man sits on a motorcycle without a registration plate as the pair paste stickers and then leave the scene. The incident occurred in Petukangan Selatan, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta.
