Police have released the identity of the wanted suspect in the murder of Depok primary school teacher Afrianti (41), whose body was discovered in Gunungputri, Bogor Regency. The suspect is named Muhammad Syamun Al Ghozi.

According to detikNews, Gunungputri Police Station issued a photograph of Muhammad Syamun Al Ghozi as a person of interest (DPO). The photograph and identification details were released on Instagram @polsek_gunungputri.

The alleged perpetrator was born in Kebumen, Central Java on 16 February 1999. According to records, he last resided at Jalan Cemara I Number 70 RT 01 RW 10, Baktijaya Village, Sukmajaya District, Depok City, West Java.

“Yes, this is a wanted person in a murder case. The victim was a woman named Arifianti. Yes, she was a teacher,” said Gunungputri Police Chief Kompol Aulia Robby when asked for confirmation on Monday (16 March 2026).

Muhammad Syamun Al Ghozi has been designated as a wanted person with reference number DPO/10 II/RES.1.7./2026 /Reskrim. He is suspected of committing murder and or assault resulting in death, according to Article 459 of the Criminal Code and or Article 466(3) of the Criminal Code.

“Suspected of committing murder and or assault resulting in death, Article 459 of the Criminal Code and or Article 466(3) of the Criminal Code,” wrote Gunungputri Police Station through its official Instagram account, @polsek_gunungputri.

Previously, Syamun was suspected of murdering Afrianti, whose body was discovered on 6 December 2025. Police believe the perpetrator was a close friend of the victim.

“The perpetrator has not yet been arrested. The perpetrator is believed to be a close friend of the victim, possibly her partner,” said Gunungputri Police Chief Kompol Aulia Robby on Tuesday (27 January).

“Our suspicion points in that direction (murder). However, we are still investigating. There are wounds, there are injuries. For now, we are focusing on the injuries,” said Aulia Robby when contacted by detikcom on Sunday (7 December).
