Suspect Siman Bahar Dies, KPK to Prepare SP3

JAKARTA - The President Director of PT Loco Montrado, who is also a suspect in the alleged corruption case of metal anode processing, Siman Bahar, has died in China.

“We must first confirm regarding Siman Bahar, as we are trying to update why he went to China, but the information about his death can be confirmed as of today; we just need the administration,” said Acting Director of Investigation of the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Monday (13/4/2026).

Taufik stated that the KPK will issue a Termination of Investigation Order (SP3) related to Siman Bahar’s case.

The KPK re-announced the determination of Siman Bahar as a suspect on Monday (5/6/2023).

In the first suspect determination, Siman successfully nullified his suspect status through a pretrial lawsuit.

Kompas.com notes that during the investigation process, the KPK never detained Siman due to health reasons.

Nevertheless, examinations were still conducted at the hospital.

“The KPK has designated PT LCM as a corporate suspect,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Tuesday (14/10/2025).
