Bogor City, police have arrested a suspect in the death of a woman found dead in the Yasmin area of Bogor City, West Java.

Public Relations Head of Polresta Bogor Kota, IPDA Imam Dwi, said the suspect was captured on the toll road toward Paseh, Sumedang. The suspect is currently undergoing questioning at the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jawa Barat).

‘Initial information indicates the suspect has been secured, arrested. The suspect remains in custody, temporarily at Polda. Yes, at Polda Jabar. The arrest occurred on the toll road toward Paseh,’ Imam told Kompas.com on Saturday, 23 May 2026.

Imam said the full chronology of the case would be disclosed after the suspect’s questioning is completed. At present, Polresta Bogor Kota is coordinating with Polda Jawa Barat regarding the case’s disclosure.

Tanah Sareal Sector Police Chief Kompol Doddy Rosjadi said the victim was initially found unidentified in the Simpang Yasmin area around 01:15 WIB.

‘The victim was found lying by the roadside, believed dead. The victim had no identity or personal belongings and was unidentified,’ Doddy said when contacted by Kompas.com on Saturday.

Police then conducted a crime scene investigation (TKP) together with the Bogor City Police’s Forensic Identification Team (Inafis) to identify the victim.

From the identification results, the victim was known by the initials A (52), a resident of Kemang, Bogor Regency.

According to family statements, the victim had told a friend she would go out for coffee before she was found dead.

‘At 22:00 WIB, the victim told her friend she would go out for coffee with a friend, using a Toyota Yaris orange with plate B 2903 SKK,’ Doddy said.

The body was subsequently transported to RS Polri Kramat Jati for autopsy. ‘The victim had died and was taken to the hospital and autopsied at RS Kramat Jati. It is still under investigation,’ Doddy said.

In videos and posts circulating on social media, the victim is described as having her eyes covered with cloth and believed to have neck lacerations. However, to date, the police are still examining the exact cause of death.
