Suspect in Viral Assault of Golf Caddy at Modern Golf Tangerang Arrested

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tangerang City Metro Police has arrested a man with the initials FP (38) suspected of assaulting a golf caddy in the Modern Golf area, Tangerang City. FP was arrested at his hiding place in Bandar Lampung City. “After conducting intensive investigations, the perpetrator was successfully secured in Bandar Lampung and is currently undergoing further investigation,” said Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari, on Friday (26/6/2026). The case had previously drawn public attention after footage of the alleged assault on a golf caddy went viral on various social media platforms. The Head of Criminal Investigation for the Tangerang City Metro Police, AKBP Parikhesit, along with the Opsnal Team of Unit I Krimum, conducted a series of investigations until they finally managed to identify the perpetrator’s whereabouts. The arrest was made at around 09.00 WIB at the suspect’s residence in Kemiling District, Bandar Lampung City. “We are committed to providing legal certainty for every criminal act that occurs within the jurisdiction of the Tangerang City Metro Police,” he said. The Police Chief stressed that any form of violence cannot be justified for any reason. “Differences of opinion or personal matters should not be resolved through acts of violence. All citizens have equal standing before the law, and every criminal act will be processed according to applicable regulations,” he asserted. Head of Public Relations for the Tangerang City Metro Police, AKP Iwan Heriestiawan, explained that the arrest was led by AKP Suwito together with the Jatanras team from the Tangerang City Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit. After being secured, the suspect was immediately taken to the Tangerang City Metro Police headquarters for examination and further legal proceedings. The assault incident itself occurred on Tuesday (23/6) at around 19.51 WIB in the Modern Golf area of Tangerang City. Based on the investigation results, investigators have named FP as a suspect following a case review. “From the preliminary examination, the motive for the assault was triggered by jealousy. At the time, the suspect asked a golf course marshall with the initials VD to buy a drink and uttered the phrase, ‘Thank you, my dear little sibling’,” Iwan said. The remark was overheard by the victim, who is known to be a golf caddy and had often served the suspect while playing golf. The victim then became emotional, leading to a verbal altercation that culminated in the assault. Police urged the public to keep their emotions in check when resolving any issues and to prioritise good communication to prevent matters from escalating into criminal acts. “We invite the public to jointly maintain a safe and conducive public security and order situation. If you encounter criminal acts, thuggery, or other security disturbances, please report them immediately through the National Police Call Centre 110 or the nearest police station. The 110 service is active 24 hours a day and ready to provide fast, professional, and humane service to the public,” he concluded. Currently, the suspect is still undergoing the investigation process at the Tangerang City Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit to complete the case file before it is transferred to the next stage in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
