Suspect in Viral Assault of Golf Caddy at Modern Golf Tangerang Arrested
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tangerang Kota Metro Police has arrested a man with the initials FP (3och) who is suspected of assaulting a golf caddy in the Modern Golf area, Tangerang City. FP was apprehended at his hiding place in Bandar Lampung City.
“After intensive investigation, we successfully secured the perpetrator in Bandar Lampung, and he is currently undergoing further investigation,” said the Chief of Tangerang Kota Metro Police, Kombes Raden Muhammad Jauhari, on Friday (26/06/2026).
The case previously drew significant public attention after footage of the alleged assault on a golf caddy went viral across various social media platforms.
The Head of Criminal Investigation of Tangerang Kota Metro Police, AKBP Parikhesit, along with the Unit I Krimum Opsnal Team, conducted a series of investigations until they successfully identified the perpetrator’s location. The arrest was carried out at approximately 09:00 WIB at the suspect’s residence in the Kemiling District, Bandar Lampung City.
“We are committed to providing legal certainty for every criminal act that occurs within the jurisdiction of the Tangerang Kota Metro Police,” he stated. The Police Chief emphasised that any form of violence cannot be justified for any reason.
“Differences of opinion or personal issues must not be resolved through violent actions. All citizens are equal before the law, and every criminal act will be processed in accordance with applicable regulations,” he asserted.
Public Relations Officer of Tangerang Kota Metro Police, AKP Iwan Heriestiawan, explained that the arrest was led by AKP Suwito and the Jatanras Team of the Satreskrim Tangerang Kota Metro Police. Following his detention, the suspect was immediately brought to the Tangerang Kota Metro Police headquarters for examination and further legal proceedings.
The assault occurred on Tuesday (23/06) at approximately 19:51 WIB in the Modern Golf area, Tangerang City. Based on the investigation results, investigators have named FP as a suspect following a case review.
“From preliminary examinations, the motive for the assault was triggered by jealousy. At the time, the suspect asked a golf course marshall, identified by the initials VD, to buy a drink and said, ‘Thank you, my dear sibling’,” said Iwan.
This remark was overheard by the victim, who is a golf caddy and frequently serves the suspect during his golf sessions. The victim became emotional, leading to a verbal altercation that escalated into the physical assault.
Police have urged the public to manage their emotions when resolving disputes and to prioritise good communication to avoid criminal acts. “We invite the community to work together to maintain a safe and conducive security situation. The 110 service is active 24 hours a day and is ready to provide fast, professional, and humane service to the public,” he concluded.
Currently, the suspect is still undergoing the investigation process at the Satreskrim Tangerang Kota Metro Police to complete the case files before being forwarded to the next legal stage in accordance with applicable procedures.
