Suspect in Sexual Violence Case Assaulted at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters
The suspect in the sexual violence crime case with initials FA was assaulted by three people at the Directorate of Child and Women Protection at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Thursday (26/3).
The Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the incident began when FA, a male suspect, was examined in a confrontation with the victim with initials RIS.
Budi explained that during the examination, both the suspect FA and the victim RIS brought their respective entourages. When the two met, he said, an argument ensued, leading to the assault.
He claimed that the investigators immediately separated the two parties to prevent a wider clash. After being separated, Budi said the situation returned to being conducive.
“From the start, we anticipated the potential for friction because both parties arrived with companions. The investigators immediately took firm action by separating the two parties, so the situation remained under control,” he told reporters on Monday (30/3).
Budi explained that the altercation was not only due to the ongoing TPKS case but was also influenced by other issues outside this case. He mentioned that one of the assailants who punched had another matter with the suspect FA that triggered emotions leading to the violent act.
As a result of the assault, Budi said that investigators from the Subdirectorate of General Criminal Investigations at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police have arrested three perpetrators to be processed according to applicable legal provisions.
“The handling of this case we ensure remains professional, proportional, and measured, while prioritising protection for the victim and maintaining public order and security,” he stated.
On the other hand, despite the tension, the sexual violence case examination process continued with mechanism adjustments. At that time, the victim RIS objected to facing the suspect directly, so the investigators conducted separate examinations to ensure the safety and comfort of all parties.
In the TPKS case itself, Mr. FA has been designated as a suspect since July 2025 and was once on the Wanted List before finally complying with the investigators’ summons.
This case was reported by the victim RIS regarding the alleged sexual violence that occurred on 30 October 2022 in the Directors’ Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of the DPP Bapera Building, Central Jakarta. Several witnesses have been examined, including forensic experts, clinical psychologists, and sexual violence crime experts to strengthen the evidence.
