Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – Former Chief of Bima City Police, AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro, has not yet been detained over the alleged narcotics abuse case. Currently, Didik is placed in special assignment (Patsus) and will subsequently undergo an ethics trial on Thursday, 19 February 2026.

“For AKBP DPK, he is currently carrying out the code of ethics process, scheduled for Thursday (19 February) to conduct the code of ethics trial,” said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, in a press conference at his office in Jakarta, on Sunday evening (15 February).

Didik is charged under Article 609 paragraph 2 letter a of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP), in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments and Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics. He faces a potential prison sentence of up to life imprisonment.

Isir assured that the National Police will not grant special treatment to its members involved in criminal acts, particularly narcotics, which is an extraordinary crime. “In fact, we are applying stricter examination standards to maintain the institution’s dignity. This aligns with the instructions from the National Police Leadership to conduct internal clean-ups consistently and sustainably,” he emphasised.

Didik’s involvement in the alleged narcotics abuse case was revealed through the testimony of AKP Malaungi, the Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of Bima City Police, who has also been named as a suspect. On Wednesday, 11 February 2026, the Internal Affairs Bureau of the National Police Professional and Security Division, together with the Directorate of Narcotics Crimes of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, conducted a search at Didik’s private residence in Tangerang. From this enforced action, evidence was discovered, including narcotics in the form of methamphetamine in seven clip packets with a total weight of 16.3 grams, 50 ecstasy pills, 19 Alprazolam pills, and two Happy Five pills.
