The suspect in the child abuse case at the Ndholo Kusumo Pati Islamic boarding school, identified as A, 51, has been transferred from the Pati Police detention centre to the Central Java Police detention centre.

“Yes, it’s true, the suspect, A, has been transferred to the Central Java Police detention centre,” said Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pati Police, AKP Iswantoro, on Friday (16/5).

According to Iswantoro, the transfer was carried out for security reasons. The legal process is ongoing, with several witnesses being questioned and evidence being collected.

In the development of the case, Iswantoro said, police have questioned several additional witnesses, including the suspect’s family and students who knew about the victim’s activities before the incident.

“We have questioned the perpetrator’s family as witnesses, as well as other witnesses in the Islamic boarding school,” he added.

On Thursday (13/5), the Pati Police received another report of child abuse allegedly committed by the caretaker of the Islamic boarding school in Pati. The victim, who had been a follower of the suspect since around 2013-2014, was accompanied by his legal counsel and underwent questioning to provide further details.

“We came to the Pati Police to assist the victim in reporting the suspect, A, for the case of child abuse and sexual violence that he had experienced,” said Burhanuddin, the victim’s legal counsel.

According to the victim’s testimony, Burhanuddin said, the suspect used a consistent pattern of strict obedience doctrines, making it difficult for the victim to resist.

“We, from the advocacy team involving more than 20 lawyers, will continue to monitor this case,” he concluded. (H-4)

The number of victims reporting abuse by the caretaker and founder of the Ndholo Kusumo Pati Islamic boarding school, who is now the suspect, A, is increasing. Police are currently questioning the new victims.

A masseur in Sukolilo, Pati, was arrested by police after allegedly abusing his neighbour by using the guise of a pregnancy ritual, resulting in the victim becoming four months pregnant.

The victim of the abuse by the caretaker of the Islamic boarding school in Pati, Central Java, has filed a request for assistance to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).

The LPSK has intervened to monitor the child abuse case at the Ndholo Kusumo Pati Islamic boarding school. It is suspected that there are dozens of victims and systematic intimidation to silence witnesses.

The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has gone directly to Pati to meet with the victims.
