Suspect in Bogor Woman Murder Case Arrested After Toll Road Chase and Crash

Police engaged in a high-speed chase with the suspect believed to have murdered a woman in Yasmin, Bogor, West Java, on Saturday (23 May 2026). Bogor City Police Chief of Criminal Investigation, Kompol Bagus Azi Lesmana Putra, stated the chase occurred as the suspect attempted to flee. ‘Yes, the chase happened as the suspect tried to escape. Warnings were issued but not heeded; to avoid endangering other toll road users, police took measured firm action,’ Azi Lesmana said. He added that the suspect was apprehended on the toll road heading towards Paseh in Sumedang. ‘Initial information confirms the suspect has been detained and arrested. He is currently held at the West Java Provincial Police headquarters. The arrest took place on the Paseh-bound toll road,’ Imam said. The suspect, positioned ahead of police vehicles, accelerated rapidly and refused to surrender despite police warnings. ‘We are from the West Java Provincial Police Mobile Brigade. Stop your vehicle or we will take measured firm action,’ a police officer said inside the patrol car. Despite the warnings, the suspect continued to accelerate, resulting in a crash. It is understood that prior to the chase, the suspect dumped the victim’s body, identified as AAA (25), from the Bogor Outer Ring Road (BORR) toll road early Saturday morning.
