South Tangerang, Kompas.com - Police stated that the man who killed his biological mother, K (64), had harboured intentions to end her life a week before the incident. Pamulang police chief AKp Galuh Febri Saputra confirmed the suspect had disclosed his plans to a friend. ‘The suspect had intended to take the victim’s life and did so by informing a friend,’ Galuh told Kompas.com on Monday, 25 May 2026. The incident occurred around 00:30 WIB at the victim’s residence in Kedaung, Pamulang. The suspect found the victim asleep in her room, pulled her legs to wake her, then brutalised her with a hot iron. ‘The victim was still breathing weakly, so he dragged her back to the room, placed her on the bed, and covered her with a blanket,’ Galuh explained. He then left the house to meet friends playing cards, telling them his mother was critical. When neighbours arrived at the scene, the victim was confirmed dead. The case came to light when police noticed suspicious wounds on the body during preparations for burial. Initial investigations revealed wounds on the victim’s head, hands, and neck, suspected to be from assault. ‘The crime scene was allegedly tidied up by the suspect to erase evidence,’ Galuh said. Police seized evidence including the iron, sheets, bed covers, crime scene documentation, and CCTV footage. The suspect faces charges under Article 458 of the Criminal Code read together with Article 466(3) of Law No. 1 of 2023, carrying a maximum seven-year prison sentence.
