Suspect Arrested in Attack That Killed Officer Aipda Yudhie During Drug Raid

A man with the initials S, also known as A, suspected of involvement in an attack on personnel from the Katingan Police Narcotics Unit during a drug raid in Tumbang Kalemei village, Katingan Tengah district, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan, has been arrested. Central Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan confirmed the arrest, stating that a joint team had successfully secured one suspected perpetrator. The arrest took place at a gold dredging pontoon in the Tumbang Pariyei village area. The suspect had been a target of a police manhunt following the attack that resulted in the death of a police officer. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was with his wife and cooperated when officers asked him to surrender. The suspect is now in custody for further investigation regarding his alleged role in the assault on police. Although one suspect has been detained, the pursuit of other perpetrators continues. Joint forces are still hunting several individuals believed to have been involved in the attack. Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan stated that the case is a priority following the death of the late Aipda Yudhie Perdana Putra, who was posthumously promoted, during a narcotics eradication operation in the Katingan region. He pledged to investigate the case thoroughly and urged the public to support and pray for the safety of officers in the field. The operation to raid a drug dealer in Tumbang Kalemei village had previously ended in tragedy, with one officer killed and two others still missing after being attacked while on duty.
