Jakarta (ANTARA) - Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the assault on an employee at the 3413901 petrol station in Cipinang, Pulogadung, East Jakarta. “I have just received information that the perpetrator has been arrested,” said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police, AKBP Dicky Fertoffan, when contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday. Dicky explained that so far, only one person has been arrested in connection with the assault, which went viral. He also did not specify whether the perpetrator was a member of the authorities or a civilian. “Yes, one person has been arrested,” Dicky said. According to Lukman, the queue of vehicles behind them began to lengthen, so he took the initiative to speed up the process by requesting the barcode, which is a requirement for filling up according to Pertamina’s procedures. However, the situation suddenly escalated when the barcode shown did not match the type of vehicle being used. Lukman said that the vehicle’s registration number was the same, but the data and type of vehicle in the barcode were different. It is alleged that, not accepting the reprimand, the man immediately became angry in the filling area. He even shouted and challenged the staff. He then approached another staff member and slapped one of their colleagues, Abud Mahmudin, who was trying to calm the situation, and he also became a target of the assault. The commotion reportedly lasted quite a long time, estimated to be almost an hour, from around 10:00 PM to almost 11:30 PM. In the incident, three employees of the 3413901 petrol station in Cipinang, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, were victims of assault by a member of the authorities. The three victims in the incident were one staff member and two operators. Khoirul Anam was slapped on the cheek, Lukman was punched on the right jaw. Meanwhile, Abud was punched under the eye and on the cheek near the mouth, causing him to lose a tooth.
