Susilo cancels Alor visit

KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono
has canceled his planned visit to Alor regency, East Nusa
Tenggara. Susilo was set to visit the earthquake-hit regency on
Sunday to observe the current situation.

Umbu Saga Anakaka, a spokesman for the East Nusa Tenggara
provincial government, said he was informed by a palace official
that the president could not proceed with his plan as he had to
chair a cabinet meeting and visit Yogyakarta on the same day.

Alor was rocked by a major earthquake on Nov. 13, killing at
least 34 people. -- JP
