Susi regains
her top spot

JAKARTA (JP): Badminton queen Susi Susanti regained her reign,
bumping her strongest rival Bang Soo-hyun of South Korea to
second place, according to the world-ranking list released by the
International Badminton Federation on Thursday.

Susi, who suffered bitter semifinal blows after losing to Bang
and Ye Zhaoying in the Sudirman Cup and World Championships in
Lausanne, is now number one again after winning the Malaysia Open
and Indonesia Open respectively. She garnered 332.78 points while
Bang, who was on the top for only a few months, collected 331.09
points.

The release also shows Indonesia's dominance in the men's
singles. World champion Hariyanto Arbi, Ardy B. Wiranata, Alan
Budikusuma, Hermawan Susanto and Joko Suprianto were listed in
the first, second, third, fourth and fifth places. (arf)
