Susanto, Andrean score second wins

JAKARTA: Indonesia's Susanto Megaranto and Andrean Susilodinata booked their second wins at the Junior World Chess Championship in Oropesa del Mar, Spain, on Monday.

After his win over Eduardo Ege Vandepette of Spain in the opening round, Susanto, who is competing in the U-14 category, beat Navarro Ortiz, also from Spain, in the second round.

Andrean, who joins the U-12 competition, was extended to 49 moves before stopping Benjamin Skjoldan of Denmark for his second straight win. He defeated Emre Can of Turkey on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's representative in the U-10 category, Boy Reinhard, had to be content with a draw with Kruglyakov Pavlo of Russia. It was Boy's second draw, the first coming from the match with Yerzhan Supenov of Kazakhstan. --JP
