PT Suryacipta Swadaya, a subsidiary of PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk (SSIA), is strengthening its efforts to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) into Indonesia through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoI) for a Strategic Banking Partnership and Industrial Investment Promotion with United Overseas Bank (UOB). The agreement was signed during the ASEAN Conference 2026 held at the Resorts World Convention Centre, Singapore, on Friday (31/7).

The MoU was signed by the Chief Commercial Officer of PT Suryacipta Swadaya, Abednego Purnomo, and the Wholesale Banking Director of UOB, Harapman Kasan. This collaboration reinforces a partnership that has existed since 2021 and expands collaborative marketing strategies to promote the Subang Smartpolitan industrial estate to regional investors.

Through this partnership, UOB and Suryacipta will promote investment opportunities within Subang Smartpolitan alongside banking services to industrial players across various Asian nations. This move is expected to accelerate the influx of new investment, particularly in the high-tech manufacturing sector and the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem.

Abednego Purnomo stated that the cooperation with UOB is part of the company’s commitment to expanding foreign investor access to the industrial estates developed by the firm. “We are very enthusiastic about expanding our strategic collaboration with UOB, which has been our trusted partner since 2021. The signing of this MoU is a tangible manifestation of our responsibility to facilitate high-quality FDI flows into Indonesia. Through UOB’s extensive network and Singapore’s position as a business hub in Asia, we are optimistic that we can introduce the integrated industrial ecosystem of Subang Smartpolitan to regional investors, especially those in the high-tech manufacturing and EV sectors, which are currently global focuses,” said Abednego.

Suryacipta is well-known as the developer and manager of the Suryacipta City of Industry in Karawang. The company is currently developing Subang Smartpolitan as a new-generation industrial estate designed to meet modern manufacturing investment needs. The development is supported by a strategic location with direct access to the Trans-Java Toll Road network, the Patimban Port Access Toll Road, and proximity to Kertajati International Airport. This infrastructure is expected to enhance logistical efficiency and strengthen Indonesia’s position in the regional manufacturing supply chain.

In addition to the MoU signing, Suryacipta participated as a panelist in the ‘Indonesia Market Breakout’ session at the ASEAN Conference 2026, titled ‘Indonesia’s Industrial Moment: Reform, Risk and the Real Investment Case’. The international forum, themed ‘ASEAN’s Future in a Fractured World’, was also attended by Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, Gan Kim Yong.

During the forum, Abednego presented Indonesia’s potential as an industrial and trade hub within ASEAN. He highlighted the importance of integrating industrial estates with national logistics networks, deep-sea ports, highways, and digital infrastructure to enhance investment competitiveness. “Subang Smartpolitan is presented as a Smart, Green, and Sustainable City. Through integration with national logistics networks and IoT-based estate infrastructure, we are building a comprehensive ecosystem ready to support manufacturing supply chain resilience. The trust from the global EV industry, heavy equipment, electronics, and other sectors that are now tenants in our estate is tangible proof that Indonesia is ready to be a future production base,” he said.

During the discussion, Suryacipta also outlined various investment opportunities and challenges in Indonesia, including national infrastructure developments and regulatory aspects that investors must understand before establishing Indonesia as a long-term production base. Through the partnership with UOB and investment promotion in international forums, Suryacipta hopes to attract more foreign direct investment to Indonesia, believing that new investments will strengthen national industrial competitiveness and accelerate the development of Subang Smartpolitan as a sustainable industrial estate.
