Surya Paloh donates 1-ton Limousin cow to Nursiah Daud Paloh Mosque
Marking Eid al-Adha 1447 H, Media Group Chairman Surya Paloh donated a 1-ton Limousin cow to the Nursiah Daud Paloh Mosque in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Wednesday, 27 May. The handover ceremony took place solemnly in the mosque courtyard, witnessed by the sacrifice committee and local worshippers. Paloh led the formal transfer as a symbol of trust to distribute the animal to those in need, stating: ‘Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. I hand over this sacrificial animal to the committee for slaughter and distribution to the community in my and my family’s name, with the intention of pleasing Allah Ta’ala.’ This annual tradition by Media Group reflects the company’s genuine social concern for the local community. Paloh stressed that the qurbani ritual is not merely an annual formality but a sincere act of devotion rooted in humility and sincerity. Gatot, representing the mosque’s management committee (DKM), expressed deep appreciation for Media Group’s trust, confirming that the entire process from slaughter to meat distribution would be professionally managed to ensure it reaches the intended beneficiaries. ‘We thank Bapak Surya and his family. Insha’Allah, this trust will be delivered to those deserving,’ Gatot said. The event concluded with a collective prayer led by Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta Rector Ma’mum Murad Al-Barbasy, seeking blessings for the nation, peace, and strengthened community solidarity.
