A national survey conducted by the research institution Citra Nasional Network (CNN) shows that the majority of the public is satisfied with the energy services provided by PT Pertamina (Persero). The public satisfaction rate reached 83.7 per cent, particularly concerning the distribution of fuel (BBM) and LPG, as well as access to energy services.

The survey, conducted between 4 and 17 April 2026, measured public perception regarding energy security and Pertamina’s operational services across various regions. The results indicate that the stability of energy supply and ease of access to services are the primary factors shaping public assessment.

The research involved 1,580 respondents who are active users of Bio Solar, Pertalite, and 3kg LPG throughout Indonesia. The sampling utilised a multistage random sampling method with a 9-5 per cent confidence level and a margin of error of approximately 2.47 per cent.

Muhammad Sutisna, Director of Citra Nasional Network, stated that this satisfaction level reflects the public’s perception of the sustainability of national energy distribution. “High public trust indicates that the community perceives national energy distribution to be relatively well-maintained,” Sutisna said in a statement on Monday (18/5/2026).

Based on the survey results, 67.2 per cent of respondents reported using Pertamina fuel every day, while 29.1 per cent use fuel every three days, and 3.7 per cent access fuel more than once every three days. Furthermore, 79.7 per cent of respondents obtain fuel through Pertamina’s petrol station network, while 20.3 per cent use retailers or private fuel providers.

In the 3kg LPG sector, the majority of the public still obtains subsidised gas through nearby kiosks and shops. The survey noted that 67.7 per cent of respondents purchase LPG through these channels, while 27.4 per cent use official distribution bases.

The survey also highlighted public acceptance of the digitalisation of energy services. Approximately 85.2 per cent of respondents expressed support for the use of the MyPertamina application for purchasing subsidised fuel to ensure distribution is more targeted. According to Sutisna, the use of digital technology is beginning to play a role in managing energy user data, although the effectiveness of its implementation requires continuous evaluation.

Overall, satisfaction levels regarding the stability of fuel and LPG distribution remained above 80 per cent, indicating a relatively positive public perception of national energy services amidst global economic dynamics.
